Mezzo soprano, Alix Faulhaber, is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida. Hailed by critics for a voice like “warm buttered bread”, “rich melted chocolate”, "an exceptionally strong stage presence, and a wit to pull it all together."

Alix received her IB Diploma with a focus in Theatre, and then her B.A. in Acting from Susquehanna University. Immediately thereafter, Alix co-founded and served as Artistic Director of Stray Dogs Theatre Company,  Inc.  In 2008, Alix started taking voice lessons with Blake Leopold, and from there trained with the SITI Company at Columbia University and their Skidmore Summer Intensive.  Inspired by the rigorous and horizon-broadening experiences with SITI, Alix began taking ensemble classes at the MIRA Program at St. Petersburg College, and not soon after that, her voice took over her life. Alix largely learned opera on the job! But caught up with some YAPs: the IES Vienna Summer Intensive for Vocalists and Collaborative Pianists with Michael Pinkerton, Carolyn Hague, and Dr. Robert Barefield.  And later IOPE in Mercatello-Sul-Metauro, Italy with Suzanna Guzmán, James Caraher, Jeff Mattsey, and Mark Thomsen.

In her third opera ever, Alix performed the role of Drei Knabe in Opera Tampa’s The Magic Flute.  She then went on to cover Giovanna in Rigoletto, and played Cio-Cio San’s Mother in Madama Butterfly in the following season. She has performed as a soloist with Gloria Musicae, the Opera Tampa Singers, St. Petersburg Opera cabarets, the Opera Tampa Singers, and AMICCO.  She started in the Opera Tampa chorus, where she was a dancer in Un Ballo In Maschera, and a fighter in Carmen. She later joined the St. Petersburg Opera chorus, where she was featured as Aurora (principal dancer) in the Neapolitan Festival, the Witch (clown troupe member) in Pagliacci, and reprised her role as principal fighter Manuelita in Carmen. Since then, Alix has played Julia in Gladiola, Ethel Toffelmeier in The Music Man, Granny/The Giant/The Crying Baby and covered Jack's Mother in Into The Woods. She has most recently performed as Beggar Woman in Opera Tampa's Sweeney Todd.

Since 2014, Alix and Melissa have been challenging the opera status quo and infusing classical Acting techniques into their Choruses. Alix routinely leads Acting and Commedia dell'arte workshops for principal casts and performs in demonstrations during Donor events.

In 2021, Alix and her Artner Melissa Misener founded Cackling Harpies LLC in an effort to share their "fun-size" condensed operas with the world. Gilbert Vs. Sullivan and Best of the Bay Best Playwright nominated Butterfly's Flight are available to license now.
